Life at the River

.
We are members of the F.O.R.T. community in Northwest Alabama.  It is a campground where we lease our space by the year.  It is like taking a vacation every weekend or about it.  We have done a lot of work there with a huge L-shaped porch complete with a grill, bar, karaoke, and surround sound.  We are currently in the process of adding a room on the back. What will it be for you ask?  It will be a living/sleeping room, bathroom and utility room.  Yes we have a washer, dryer, satellite now, and getting internet service sometime.  Is that not what you call roughing it? LOL!

We take some awesome golf cart rides and then our porch is the hang out most every weekend for karaoke.  There is always someone cooking something.  We gather together most every night.  This is truly a place where we Live, Love, Laugh and yes Dream.   The photo was taken in April 2011. Guess it is time for a new one. Hmmm...I will have to that this weekend. It has changed so much since then

We get together for holidays.

We Karaoke with a porch full.

We dress up!

And we decorate for holidays.

So as you can see we have lots of fun and it is kind of like back in the old days (except for all the luxuries we have) when communities gathered for fun and fellowship.

Saturday:

Going to the Blue Herron (aka The Blue Goose...LOL) tonight!  Whoo! Hoo!! No cooking!!! We like that! Oh My!!! Well, everytime we have been there to eat so far we have had really good food but tonight mine was not so good.  Garry and I ordered fried mushrooms first, they were put at the end of the table; we didn't know they were ours and were being eaten, no big deal because I was going to share anyway. It is just when I order something I expect it to be in front of me not somebody else, so it took us a while to figure that one out.  Then I ordered the hamburger steak plate for my meal and most of it was raw! GROSS!!!  I didn't eat much of that I can tell you and by that time I was just ready to get out of there.  We had a lot of fun with the other 13 people that was with us anyway.

Today: Monday Aug 27, 2012
Getting updates out on Malaya's surgery. Prayer meeting tonight at Wood Industries in Belmont, MS for her.  Please pray for her as she undergoes brain surgery in the morning!
Trent is home sick today!  He has a cold: cough, congestion, little fever; but he is a guy so if you have a husband or a son then you know how that is.
Ya'll keep me in your prayers too and I will do the same for you! God Bless and have a wonderful day!
